My work with people is a respectful collaboration. Together, we set out goals of therapy and frequently assess progress. I have training and more than 25 years of experience in the practice of Transactional Analysis, a way of examining and altering the patterns of communication we have with others and within ourselves. This modality is easy to learn and apply to relationships so that therapy isn't just an hour in my office once a week but a new, usable way of living the other 167 hours in a week and beyond, long after we have concluded our work together.
Our thoughts and feelings shape how we act and react and how others respond to us. We decide how to think, feel and act. We can choose, with help, more effective expressions of ourselves in our relationships with others and in our own self-talk. My style of therapy is active; I listen attentively, guide your use of new communication skills and insights, and share my thoughts with you. The feedback from my patients has been that the changes made were fast, on target, and enduring.
If you're looking for extra support and guidance through a challenging situation or you're just ready to move in a new direction in your life, I look forward to working with you to achieve your goals.
